Not only does Sydney offer lively nightclubs with top DJ acts, but you can find all kinds of entertainment options for a great night out. Enjoy a quiet night with dinner and drinks, visit a comedy club, relax at an open-air cinema or see local and international bands at a number of pubs around town. Try your luck at The Star casino in Darling Harbour which is close to all kinds of restaurants and bars.

To find out whats on in and around Sydney we recommend picking up a copy the Sydney Morning Heralds‘ Metro magazine on a Friday or one of the free street press papers; Drum Media and The Brag, which include a substantial list of bands, club nights, concerts, arts, comedy and theatre events. Another great magazine you can purchase for a few dollars is TIme Out Sydney. This magazine includes all current festivals, events, cafes, shows and much more.

Here are some of the best nightlight spots we recommend you try;

Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour is one of Sydney’s most iconic nightlife spots and is home to a number of cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Darling Harbour hosts numerous outdoor events and annual cultural festivals during the year and especially during the warmer months. Enoy a meal at one of the waterside restaurants while taking in a fireworks display.

The Star
80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont

Located on the Pyrmont side of Darling Habrour and easily accessible on foot via the Pyrmont Bridge, The Star is more than just a casino! It offers more than 20 restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs and a wine bar. Visit The Star for live music, the sports bar and the popular Lyric Theatre which hosts renowned stage productions from around the globe. There really is no need to plan your night at The Star, just arrive and see where your evening takes you.

The best nightlife spot on the north side of Sydney is Manly. There are a couple of nightclubs and a number or restaurants, pubs and bars. Head down to 4 Pines Brewing Company for handcrafted beers, beer parties, live music and entertainment. Visit Ceruti’s Bistro Italiano and Bar for a meal and a late night cocktail or two.
